General
What is Target One - Battle Royale?
Target One (T1BR) is a realistic battle royale for PC. Up to 126 players skydive onto an island with towns, farms, gas stations, an airfield and the city of Ironside, loot guns and armour, and fight while the gas closes in. The last player or team standing wins.
When does it come out?
There is no release date yet. The game is in active development by a solo developer. Wishlist it on Steam and sign up for the newsletter - playtests will be announced there first.
Which platforms?
PC, through Steam. Consoles are not planned at the moment.
Who is making it?
One developer, building everything from the island to the trailers. The dev log on the News page shows what is being worked on.
Is the footage real?
Yes. Every screenshot on this site was captured in the game engine - nothing is pre-rendered or painted over. The official trailers will be made from the finished game. It is a work in progress, so things will still change.
Gameplay
How many players are in a match?
Up to 126. Today bots fill the lobby while the online servers are being built; the goal is full online matches on dedicated servers.
Which modes will there be?
Solo, Duos and Fours. In Duos and Fours your team starts together in the sky and lands as a group. Each mode has its own leaderboard.
How does a match start?
No plane. Every fighter starts high above a random, evenly spread spot on the island, free falls, steers and opens a parachute (it opens on its own if you wait too long). That spreads the lobby out from the first second.
What can I loot?
Assault rifles, a bolt-action sniper, a pump shotgun and a revolver; helmets, plate carriers, makeshift and laminated armour; backpacks, clothing, bandages and first aid. Guns spawn empty with their ammo next to them. Airdrops bring the best gear, and every fallen player leaves a bag you can open.
Are there vehicles?
Yes - pickups, muscle cars and quads, parked near the roads. Find the key inside to drive away at once, or hotwire it and hope nobody is listening.
Is the map the same every time?
The island is fixed - you can learn it - and every match plays at the same afternoon light (15:30). The loot is random every match.
Ranked
How does ranked work?
Each match scores placement plus 1,200 per kill. Your season score is the sum of your ten best matches. Full details and a calculator are on the Ranked page.
What are the ranks?
Iron Cub, Bronze Prowler, Silver Grizzly, Gold Kodiak, Platinum Warclaw and Apex Bear - each with five divisions, V to I. Higher ranks get badges that glow brighter.
Can a bad match lower my rank?
No. A match only enters your top ten if it beats your current tenth-best score.
Skins & Bear Coins
Is it pay to win?
No. Everything you can buy is cosmetic: clothing, gun skins, vehicle paints and similar. Everyone lands with the same chance.
What are Bear Coins?

The premium currency for cosmetics, planned to be bought through your Steam Wallet. Bear Crates can be bought with coins or earned by playing, and they open straight away - no keys. Drop lists and odds will always be shown.
Is there a Discord?
Yes: discord.gg/t1br. News, playtest invites, patch notes and the people who make the game are all there.
Can I buy anything on this website?
No. There are no accounts and no payments on T1BR.COM. Purchases will only ever happen inside the game through Steam.
Tech & accounts
What PC do I need?
Final requirements come closer to release. The game is being developed and tested on a mid-range gaming laptop (RTX 3060 class) and is tuned to run well there.
Do I need a separate account?
No. Your Steam account will be your Target One account.
How do you deal with cheaters?
Matches will run on dedicated servers that decide what happens, and accounts caught cheating are banned by their Steam ID. Anti-cheat details will be shared before the first public playtest.
